Road to the PLAYOFFS!
It's time to make up for the hurricane! The new week 10 is upon us. This week, Chad's going to be in Rio Vista while Krystal is headed to Glen Rose...but then she is headed to Cleburne to catch the 5:00 and 6:30 game there. Why??? PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS!
The Bantam playoffs are set. Congrats to all of those teams.
The Minors...a little different story. While the East, North and South are good to go, the American West Division is looking at a must win situation.
Cleburne 1 faces Burleson 1 this week for what I'd consider the game of the week. Cleburne 1 is 3-2 in conference play, Burleson 1 is 2-3. It is a WIN and IN deal for both teams. Cleburne advances to the playoffs with a win or a tie. Burleson advances via head to head tiebreaker with their win. If there is a game to see this season (to date anyway), this may be the one. Kickoff is in Cleburne at 6:30.
The Major teams are all over the place. Though the North and East is sealed up, the South and West are insane.
In the south, Whitney faces Mansfield 2, Alvarado 2 faces Burleson 4 and Cleburne 3 is up against Aledo 4.
Alvarado 2 has a "win and in" situation. Whitney is in with a win and an Alvarado 2 loss. Cleburne 3 has to have a LOT of help. They have to win against Aledo 4 and have both Whitney and Alvarado 2 lose. I'm not sure that is an option pending the Mansfield 2 "situation". I'll let the league break that down if they need to.
The craziest scene, however, comes from the Major West Division. It's real simple. If Weatherford 1 (5-2) beats Burleson 5 (7-1)...they are in. Look for the Guru to pick Burleson in that one (but that IS why they play the games). So, that would bring us to the kicker... *Brock 1 v Aledo 5*.
If Aledo 5 wins, they are in with a Weatherford 1 loss. However, if Brock 1 wins...CHAOS!
If Brock 1 beats Aledo 5, and Weatherford 1 loses to Burleson 5, then we have a 3 way tie at third place. In head to head matchups, Weatherford beat Brock in an overtime game 6-0. Aledo, however, beat Weatherford last week 14-8. (Brock would have beaten Aledo 5, causing the round robin.) That means that for Brock to make the playoffs, they would have to win by 7. (See Brazos Valley Tie-Breaks) I don't know what happens if there is a 6 point difference...refer to Jim and the boys on that!!!!)
If Aledo 5 loses by 5 points or less, (and there is a Weatherford 1 loss), then Aledo 5 makes the playoffs.
Aledo 5 and Brock 1 play in Brock at 2pm. Weatherford 1 and Burleson 5 play in Weatherford at 3pm.
