The Red River Athletic Conference games got moved back to the Northwood Campus because of all the recalls for the lightpoles across the nation. Turns out...the lights at QuikTrip (where the airHOGS play), got SWINEflu too! HA HA...get it? Anyway, they have to replace all the lightpoles so they don't fall on people.

Good news...I got a good laugh from today's Northwood pitcher, (and a student in my classes)...meet Josh Matthews. Most the kids in my class are pretty decent looking...this one, well, it may not get him any dates, but they will know where the blood vessel is when he has an aneurysm. Now call him, Nex Plode...

Small Update

Sorry once again for the delay in posts. We've been up to our ears in a few things. Team/individual shoots for the most part. As it turns out, there's never a schedule that actually WORKS. This spring, we had everything set...EVERY baseball association we worked this year had to reschedule due to the weather. Imagine that. We have stuff coming in daily at this point, so if you are expecting some things from us, it won't be long.

With that, at the risk of sounding like Seinfeld, "what the deal with Swine Flu?" Turns out - Cleburne (yes, where we actually house and office...though we are never there) is out for the rest of the week with some probable cases...better safe than sorry. Bad part is, I didn't realize that pigs GOT the flu!

Oh, and for the week ahead - though we are up to our pig ears in everything, this weekend we are scheduled to shoot the Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Tournamnet at Quik-Trip Park in Grand Prairie (home of the Airhogs). For those of you that just like baseball, you'll see some good stuff at a great facility...come on out. I'm sure we'll get some things posted with it as it comes up.

Oh, and lst thing...we are about to embark on making sure everything is set for the fall. We are in the process of hiring a cople of different people to do a couple of different things...mainly take some pressure off me and Krystal...especially her...so, for all of you that are looking for us come football season - talk to your boards - get us out...we appreciate that very very much!!!

She's going to have a bright future, and she jumped into a little hational spotlight today. For those that were there...you've seen it already.

A little helpful hint

Hey - We don't try to get too political on here, but I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of this little issue, so you don't get burned about this time next year. I got this memo this week as an FYI...thought it was important enough to share...

Effective April 1, 2009, the federal tax withholding tables will be modified to reflect the provisions of the economic stimulus plan. The primary motivation of the plan is to increase take-home pay immediately and to provide tax credits through a reduction in taxes, via withholding tables.

One of the potential consequences of the new plan is there could be an underwithholding at the end of the year for two-income households or individuals who hold two jobs. The reason for the underwithholding is because each worker will be given the impact of a credit, whereas only one is available for each household. In a situation where an individual works two jobs, each employer will be withholding without considering the other; thus, a double credit will be provided.

I'm not an accountant, or your HR office...so you may want to check with them about adjusting your W4...that's the advice we were given (that I couldn't publish, sorry)...Given the fact that most families would probably be impacted by this...I just thought you should know, so you aren't paying a few more taxes next year than you probably already should...it's a little stimulus loophole. I don't think there will be a "sorry we weren't clear" exemption.

My Poor Neglected Blog

Krystal at one point on the Studio Blog wrote a note to her blog...it said how she felt bad for the neglect to the blog and how she would get better. (Maybe I should re-read it?) Now, the sports blog has been grossly neglected. Most of it is "out of site, out of mind." We generally take a little sports time off between football season and the spring...BUT, guess what, Spring is here (just look at the weather forecasts, we can tell)...

We're going to get kicking this week with sports...thanks to Godley Baseball/Softball for getting out year going...

Back in the Swing

Greetings all! I can't believe there hasn't been a post since January. Our apologies to if you think we completely take January and February off. That isn't the most accurate thing in the world. It doesn't mean we are in the full swing of things exactly, but it is one of the most challenging times for us... Why? Well, you know how you go to eat out at 3:30 in the afternoon and nobody is there...yet the waiter is still a joke, and you don't understand, because there is nobody there. Just not in mode...bottom line.

With that, we are getting back into the swing of things. You're going to see LOTS of new stuff happenning the next week or so. So - keep checking the blog, having fun, and take a look at some of these shots we took last week to get us geared up for baseball.

Oklahoma City University was the NAIA Sooner Conference champs last season, and Northwood University was the NAIA Red River Conference champ. Not only did they meet up a little last season - but the all but kicked off the year this year. TONS of scouts at this one because OCU finished up last season with a #5 national ranking...and they didn't disappoint. The wind was blowing out, and both team added up the runs, and the bombs.

One Week Left

All football / soccer photos from the 2008 season are coming down in exactly ONE WEEK! Be sure you let everyone know...if they want those shots, now's the time. There are no promises for them to return!

With that, we'd like to thank the Venus Youth Basketball Association for having us out last weekend for their photo day, and like to thank Lane Prairie Baptist Church for having us out yesterday for their photo day. Later today (Sunday) we are headed to Cleburne to do their youth basketball photo day.

Basketball is an interesting opportunity. Practice times, gym times, siblings playing all over the place. As many of you know, we've gotten away from the photo day "background"...everything is better in a natural envirnment. But, to get into a gym, even on Sunday, is crazy. Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make it happen.

Just an FYI - we are going to start securing baseball and soccer photo days in the coming weeks. If anyone would like a proposal, please contact your association's board members. We'd be happy to meet with them to meet your needs.

Also, we'll be changing parts of the webpage in the nearing weeks...I think you'll like the "new" look...our plash page is a nice sneak peak.

Happy holidays to all, and thanks for helping us make 2008 a memorable one! As we look forward to 2009, I just wanted to say a couple of things...

First - I hate UPS, as they have given the "MERCHANDISE IS MISSING. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS. / ALL MERCHANDISE MISSING, EMPTY CARTON WAS DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE" to not one but TWO of the packages that should have been delivered YESTERDAY! Being the fact that these are custom posters, and that all of our labs are closed today and the rest of the weekend, there just isn't alot we'll be able to do other than give UPS a piece of it. How does this happen with a poster tube???

Second - I THINK all email issues have been resolved...thank you outlook express (though I don't completely trust it)

Third - I had a great opportunity Saturday to attend the last ever professional football game at Texas Stadium. Of course I took a camera and documented the occasion the best I could with the seats we had. Now, that being said, thanks to Larry Brown in Aledo for the invite, and the experience. I met several former Cowboys and they got more than they needed autographs. It was awesome! Poster Deadline Semi-Extended!

What does semi-extended mean? It means Krystal took a BOAT-LOAD of pictures at the Super Bowl. And, now that everything is up, we are taking poster orders THROUGH FRIDAY! If you order after Friday, I can't promise anything...but it will probably include a $25 rush and you'd have to pick it up here at the studio.

I've been having SEVERE email issues. I can't get to anything through my normal web browser other than in sparratic chances. I have been getting everything via cell phone, but usually don't reply via that. SO, if you have been sending emails and haven't heard back, that is why...and if you are looking for a poster proof...same thing...I'M TRYING!

Thanks to Brazos Valley and the Whitney Wildcats for putting on sure a pain free Super Bowl event. All the games were fun to watch, and congrats to those SuperBowl winners! I'll be posting some pictures to the web page and sending some to Brazos Valley as soon as I get caught up on your orders.

Thetford Cup Photos Are UP!

It's been a long week, and I was told that I was taking the Thanksgiving weekend off...(thanks to family I sometimes listen to)...but it put us behind a little. But, since I'm playing catchup, and trying to get posters out, some misc team/individual and etc etc...I thought you may enjoy some of the shots from the Thetford Cup. I'm not going to mention that was the DARKEST daytime event EVER and the fact that Mother Nature helped everything with 40degree weather, and a -25 chill factor. It was cold! Some of the pictures below are awesome, some are just funny...it is the first time I've seen PJs worn for a tourney during the games.

The Kris Thetford Memorial Cup starts tomorrow, and we are exccited! Not only is Marshall playing in the tourney, but we have the opportunity to talk to over 80 teams, and display one of our new banners!

Oh, and on a side note, we'd like to thank everyone in Brazos Valley Football and the associations and teams we worked with throughout the season. We won't see you this weekend, but we will see you in Whitney on December 6!

Road to the PLAYOFFS!

It's time to make up for the hurricane! The new week 10 is upon us. This week, Chad's going to be in Rio Vista while Krystal is headed to Glen Rose...but then she is headed to Cleburne to catch the 5:00 and 6:30 game there. Why??? PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS!

The Bantam playoffs are set. Congrats to all of those teams.
The Minors...a little different story. While the East, North and South are good to go, the American West Division is looking at a must win situation.

Cleburne 1 faces Burleson 1 this week for what I'd consider the game of the week. Cleburne 1 is 3-2 in conference play, Burleson 1 is 2-3. It is a WIN and IN deal for both teams. Cleburne advances to the playoffs with a win or a tie. Burleson advances via head to head tiebreaker with their win. If there is a game to see this season (to date anyway), this may be the one. Kickoff is in Cleburne at 6:30.

The Major teams are all over the place. Though the North and East is sealed up, the South and West are insane.

In the south, Whitney faces Mansfield 2, Alvarado 2 faces Burleson 4 and Cleburne 3 is up against Aledo 4.

Alvarado 2 has a "win and in" situation. Whitney is in with a win and an Alvarado 2 loss. Cleburne 3 has to have a LOT of help. They have to win against Aledo 4 and have both Whitney and Alvarado 2 lose. I'm not sure that is an option pending the Mansfield 2 "situation". I'll let the league break that down if they need to.

The craziest scene, however, comes from the Major West Division. It's real simple. If Weatherford 1 (5-2) beats Burleson 5 (7-1)...they are in. Look for the Guru to pick Burleson in that one (but that IS why they play the games). So, that would bring us to the kicker... *Brock 1 v Aledo 5*.

If Aledo 5 wins, they are in with a Weatherford 1 loss. However, if Brock 1 wins...CHAOS!

If Brock 1 beats Aledo 5, and Weatherford 1 loses to Burleson 5, then we have a 3 way tie at third place. In head to head matchups, Weatherford beat Brock in an overtime game 6-0. Aledo, however, beat Weatherford last week 14-8. (Brock would have beaten Aledo 5, causing the round robin.) That means that for Brock to make the playoffs, they would have to win by 7. (See Brazos Valley Tie-Breaks) I don't know what happens if there is a 6 point difference...refer to Jim and the boys on that!!!!)

If Aledo 5 loses by 5 points or less, (and there is a Weatherford 1 loss), then Aledo 5 makes the playoffs.

Aledo 5 and Brock 1 play in Brock at 2pm. Weatherford 1 and Burleson 5 play in Weatherford at 3pm.

As we are looking at winding down the season over the next couple of weeks, we'd like to say THANK YOU once again for all the calls, complimeents, and of course, your orders, etc.

With three weeks left in the season, it is POSTER TIME! I've gotten a few calls about an "order now" wait until we are done with games scenerio...not a problem. The big thin for us is getting you on the books so we can plan our days and nights. With that, we don't yet know what the playoffs will bring, but we do know where we will be from week to week from here out...

This week we are headed again to Aledo for 8 games (lots of games, lots of trips)...

The week of November 1, we're going to be in Rio Vista for three games, and then venture back over to the Quad County League in Glen Rose for the remainder of the day.

Novemebr 8th is the first week of playoffs I get the opportunity to tour Madison Square Garden and possibly the new Yankee Stadium...so I'm in New York. Krystal is heading to Brock for the playoff games - but we have no idea who is playing there...just that they have 4 or 5 games. We are hoping they are early because Krystal is headed to Waco as soon as she's done because Marshall has a soccer tourney down there.

That being said - if you take a look at your schedule, and it doesn't look like we'll see you on the fields again...then it is POSTER TIME!

Reminder, there is a Dec 1 cut off for all poster orders by Christmas (for teams playing in Whitney on Dec 6 for the BVFL Super Bowl - your cutoff date is Dec 10, but you may have added shipping charges for 2day/next day air).

WooHoo!!! Poster Info - Christmas Cards - Eye Black!

Okay...so since we are "virtually done" with team and individual stuff, I had a chance to go to the "muddy soccer practice"! The two teams Marshall has been playing on did what I would call a schoolyard scrimmage. They took all the players, took Marshall and the other keeper, made them captains, and schoolyeard picked it from there. It was a blast...and an even better blast that the dads got to play. Now, for those of you who havee seen me around know that right now my BuddaBelly is hanging a little far out there. So I played in Marshall's spot at keeper. YES...I AM AWESOME! All those young coaches and kids don't know what to think when 6 foot 4 inches of thunder comes out at them! LOL! Anyway, I was taking mud cakes off my elbows and the keeper box was more like footing for an ice rink. It was a blast...(boy am I sore!)

Anyway, I digress...lets get to the point! Did you know that we are starting the NEXT PHASE of the this season??? POSTER SEASON!

We've got our new online order form ready, and there are samples listed on the webpage now. They obviously all look good! But, NOW IS THE TIME TO ORDER! In fact...if you order your poster between now and Saturday (10/18), then we are going to take $10 off!!! We usually don't put posters on sale at all...and won't anymore...so save that $10 while you can!

And, last thing...for anyone we've done Photo Day for, you'll get an email next week...but for you blog readers...I have a special for you too...

Over in the "studio" side of things, Krystal is getting ready to book in and get you you CHRISTMAS CARDS! So...if you haven't seen her work, it's awesome, and you can see it at www.krystalimage.com. So, if you get your session booked within the month of October (you don't have to shoot, just get on the calendar with your deposit), then we are doing 30 minute mini-sessions that come with 24 Christmas Cards for $75!

The only stipulation is that they have to be done during the week, and in Cleburne. Our weekends are still filled with football. Anything outside Cleburne reverts to the regular session pricing, etc.

Thanks for a great day in Aledo and Weatherford yesterday! We appreciate everyone letting us come out again! We had a blast. We are still working on those games, and yes...I'm still working on a couple of photo day (team & individual) stuff. Lots going on...very little sleep!

With that, barring any really whacky weather, this coming Saturday we are taking a football weekend off to do photo day for the Cleburne Soccer Association. What does that mean??? Well, it means for you, since we are taking the weekend off, we are going to have a sale!

When will we shoot again?

Well, that all depends on the weather!!! Long range forecasts are calling for rain over the weekend. If that happens, then all $&^%^&* will break loose with our schedules anyway. But it also means, they don't cancel football games (well, unless there is a hurricane again), and we'll probably head somewhere (we know where, but unless it is raining, it won't matter).

The Games are on the way...but just as an FYI, the reason this week is taking so long:::

Usually, when Krystal and I both shoot on the same date, we are each responsible for cropping, editing, quality control, etc of our own games. Krystal is picking up my slack since I am drowning in the team photo day stuff...and gives her 14 games to do from the weekend. reminder...WE DON'T JUST THROW THE CARD UP THERE...we try to make sure everything is perfect before you see it. It may be a little anal retentive of OCD or whatever...but, it makes us VERY different from our 'competitor'. It's just a different process...good or bad, that is how we choose to do it.
So, we do appreciate all the emails, and calls, and suggestions on how we should do things. All feedback is appreciated...but the ones that have emailed and stopped us in the process and just said "thank you"...we thank YOU for understanding and appreciating the efforts.

Hey guys...thanks for all the calls and emails concerning Saturday's games. Please know we are working hard on those. We are hoping to start having some of those up today/tonight/early in the morning...but a majority of them will be seen Wednesday. Sorry for the delay, but we took a "birthday" off - and that was the first day I've had off in a few months. Week 4 Games!

Just a quick note of thanks to Aledo for allowing us to come out on Saturday for action shots. As always, we had a great time visiting with all of those from Aledo, Granbury, Kennedale, Cleburne and Midlothian. There was lots of great football, and those games are already available on the webpage, and I just sent them to Jim to post a few on the Brazos Valley Football website. Give him some time to get those up.

Oh, and a quick shout out to Weatherford (who we saw last week at photo day) and Whitney (who we shot yesterday). Give a hand to those board members when you get a chance. They work pretty hard handling things that you'd never dream of...and last I heard, don't get paid. Thank you!

We are looking at a busy week for us overall. Tonight and tomorrow we are headed to Brock for their Photo Day, and then Thursday evening in Glen Rose. All to turn around on Saturday for Krystal to be in Granbury and for me to be in Cleburne. We're going to introduce Ivy to you this Saturday. Look for her to have a vid-camera and interview a few players, maybe a few coaches...and some fans. And then she has an amazing talent for humor. I can't wait to see the results. But she's going to go to both Granbury and Cleburne...

Ipod Shuffle Anyone???

We'll post what we get - so if nothing shows up, then I'll have a new Ipod. Good for me!!! (Especially since my nutcase kid broke my radio intenna off my car/but left the bottom screwed in...no more Ticket!)

A weekend off...not quite

So if you haven't heard, or haven't seen...no games this weekend! Are you serious??? I'm happy to get the "bye week", but I wish it were a little later in the year. With that, since I spent so much time with the game of the week, all scheduling, etc...we are going to the same places next week.

Now, just an FYI - it DID change some of the things we are going to do later in the year. We have photo day scheduled with Cleburne Soccer October 11...and we can't just push that back a week. We were planning to go a few places, and some people we've called...we are reworking our plans.

But, all is good for us at the Super Bowl in Whitney now on December 6. We are looking extremely forward to seeing everyone there. We've designed a logo for the event, and working closely with the Whitney Association about the publication of that...look for it sometime next week! Looks great, so get LOTS of Tee-shirts!!!

I love the rain and web...

...like I love being hit in the face with a baseball bat. Rain has killed us a little this week. We really love cancellations and reschedules. I wish we could do that daily! Thank you cold front.

I also love when I have "intermediate outages" of my internet connection since last Friday. It wasn't a big deal until we had to get all the games loaded...sorry about the delay in the last three from Godley...what to do?

Okay, since Hurricane Ike is on its way into Texas, we are preparing to bring out the rain gear! Should be fun times!!! Krystal and I are splitting up a little again. We have to catch a few of these teams on the road, so we are heading back to Cleburne and Weatherford, but adding some temporary stops along the way.

Krystal will be with the newly named Cleburne High School Homecoming Queen Nominee Autumn (be sure to tell her CONGRATS on the nomination!!!) They are heading to Weatherford to see:

*** This week's Krystal Image Sports Game of the Week is none other than the Minor game of Aledo 4 v Weatherford 4.

Weatherford 4 upset a good Aledo 2 team in week one and flew by Alvarado 1 in week 2. While they've allowed only 14 points this season (Aledo 2), they've managed to score a whapping 48 in the two games. Scoring could be a big challenge against a very strong defensive unit for Aledo 4 this week. Aledo 4 has shut the doors on both Joshua 2 and Midlothian 1 in the first two weeks, recording a shutout in each, and putting up 44 points themselves. If I remember correctly, this may be a rematch of last year's 3rd and 4th place game, of which Aledo won 8-0. Look for more hits than offense in this one. Both teams will bring it. I'll let Guru Ray make the pick against his spread...his picks are more scientific than mine.
Look to see these two teams battle it out later this season in the playoffs.

A quick 10:30 note...

For those of you looking for yesterdays games from Brock and Godley...they are in process. There will be more throughout the night. Normally, we like to get those up next day. However, today we did a team/individual shoot for Cleburne Cheer (which were AWESOME, btw), and two Cleburne Major teams (which weren't so bad either). Yes, that means we put the Cowboys game on the DVR, and then told everyone that if they told us about it we would either hurt them, or put a fake mustache on their kids pictures. Luckily, everyone respected that wish (or I'm just really BA!)

Anyway, we've watched the Cowboys game, and we are both working on your pics as we speak, and Krystal has two games up from Brock...I'm slow because I check emails and write blogs as I go. Part of the job I guess...but I don't ever sleep either. What to do?

And, since we are having to work on those action shots...for those that shot their photo day stuff today, don't get excited about a 1 week turnaround like we had at the first of the year...not sure if we'll be able to make that happen. We'll TRY though!!!

5:00pm update!

Galleries 001-003 are uploaded. (Those are the first three games from Weatherford.) Galleries 005-009 are in the process of uploading. Give it a little time to run its cycles. We are hoping to have the last two games up (games 004 and 010) here in a couple of hours.

On a side note...Marshall's u10 soccer team jumped up to play in the A division this season. Awesome challenge...but as most everyone knows, to be the best...got to beat the best. So bring it on. I'm just hoping we get a chance to see a game or two this season!

So, yes, we will labor on labor day, but probably won't get anything posted today. After a few days of photo days behind us, we are so happy to see everyone and see those kids working hard in practices...why are the working so hard??? Whatever...the games are here. I think everyone is ready to roll. All the coaches I've talked to feel pretty good about their chances, all the parents are ready to root for something other than a practice. All the kids are ready to put the game jerseys on. It is time.

This season, we are going to do the best we can to cover as many games as we can. Keep in mind, that Krystal and I are a "husband/wife" team...well, a wife/husband team, or whatever. The goal has been for us to do this together, and we've been very fortunate thusfar, and only argue about the hours we keep. For me, the more games the better...for her, she wants a life too on Saturday night. So, this season, we are are going to do both. After looking at the overall schedule, please keep in mind that we have different things that we feel need make happen. We've always believed in taking care of those that have taken care of us....AND try to make everyone happy in the process. Yes, an impossible task. That being said, we won't be able to attend every field this year. Some because of contracts with others, some because we run out of time, some because we have other things scheduled on particular days. If we don't "hit you" at a home game, we may hit you on the road. Believe it or not, there was a team a copule of years ago we saw 5 times without ever visiting their home field.

By all means, if you see us and you are interested in photos of your player/cheerleader, interested in a poster, blanket, or whatever...YELL AT US! We'll get the jersey number and make sure we get what we can. Hopefully, someone will be with us to help us pass out the new "materials" and get numbers. Hopefully, we'll be fast and awesome...and with the new products, obviously I think we will be. But remember, we will always appreciate you...the parent, the coach, the grandparent, the volunteer, and best fans in the world. This IS Texas Football. And we know that you have choices when it comes to your photos. We SINCERELY THANK YOU for your business. You have truly blessed us.

Now, this is one of the few weeks you will see Krystal and I apart (you may see it a couple of more times, and then all bets are off on the playoffs...haven't heard about Super Bowl yet, just an FYI. Talk to the Whitney board for that if you have questions! LOL!)

Poster Sneak Peek

Ah...I had forgotten how much I really love the creative intensity that is the poster design. Here's a sneak peek at some new ones from last season...what will turn out to be the last of their kind. The schedule will come out late Sunday, and we are hoping that by Tuesday or so, we'll be able to tell you where we will be IN ACTION for the next couple of weeks. Lots to look at there, so right now we really have no idea. Football season is officially here...no sleep until...Thanksgiving? Really? No. It will be more like Christmas...so if I'm a walking zombie come Thanksgiving, just tell me to hang in there... See you on the fields!

Uniform Obsession

For those of you that have talked to me on the side a little, you may know that I have this enormous obsession with uniforms and the way they look. Just to let you know, I'm not the originator of this obsession, and it is shared by many. One of my daily blog hits is the "uniwatch" which can be found at www.uniwatchblog.com. This guy is a little over the top with stuff, but gets to write for ESPN.com and Sports Illustrated now and again, so I guess some obsessions can go legit.

But, just to let you know, there are some teams out there in football that have some ABSOLUTELY AWESOME looks that they throw down. There are some that could use some advice...but I'll keep quiet. No reason to ruffle sleeping feathers, right. It does get frustrating when we get teams that play white on white...it makes it hard for us as photographers, and I can just imagine how it is for the players, referees, coaches, and by all means, the fans.

Good news though...from what I am understanding is that Burleson is going back to a Red....PERFECT move as you are the only team in Brazos Valley that actually sports red and black - wear the red proudly. Cleburne is going to be sporting an old gold look that I'm anxiously awaiting to see. But, at least now there are a few less teams wearing white, and a few more going to the colors. If it weren't for those darned budgets...it would be so cool if everone could wear colors at home and the whites on the road...or the other way around. Until then, help us if/when Rio Vista/Brock/Alvarado play each other...please have those secondaries ready!!!

But just an FYI...according to the "uniwatch", white v white has actually been done before in the NFL. Here is a brief exerpt from the bottom of the August 12th entry...Good stuff! Click the links for the photos. I laughed pretty hard because we know the feeling!!!

Many of you may know the story of the 1964 game when the Vikings and Lions both showed up wearing white jerseys, but most of you have probably never seen photos of it before. The Vikes were the home team, so they had someone run over to their practice facility to get the team’s purple jerseys. After a quick wardrobe switcheroo during the second quarter, they were solid grape. Über-thanks to Larry Wiederecht for these tremendous screen grabs.

New Product!

Okay...remember how I said we had something new, but I wanted to wait a little...I waited. Anyway - NOW, you can CUSTOMIZE any photo for this football season to have YOUR TEAM ON THE IMAGE! I think it is awesome, but we have submitted something for all 13 towns, and they should all match with black and the primary colors. Of course I think they are awesome...but I guess time will tell what you think. You can get a preview if you click on "view games" and then "Brock 1st Practice" just to see how you like them...once games begin, we are looking to make sure the only items visible are the items from those two teams. Bare with us as it will take a week or two to get used what order you'll see them in, etc.

I also have a couple of poster proofs to show from last weekend's weigh in. I'll have those up later this week. But, for now, here is a samlpe of the customized borders!

As I enjoy a beautiful Sunday morning flipping between Olympic women's hoops and the gold metal ping pong women's doubles match, I ask myself a question...

Have you ever noticed that in every sport besides basketball and American football, the line is actually IN, even in GYMNASTICS!?! (yes, there is a line on a ping pong table for some reason...but if it hits it, it's still good...miss it, and miss the table, then out...go figure)

I wonder...was the line ever in for basketball and football in the beginning? I'm curious if someone got mad one day and just suddenly changed the rules so it would benefit them and said "no - that line is out, not in!" You know, kind of like the schoolyard game of basketball where all of a sudden it is 'make it, take it' for their point, but it wasn't for yours.

I guess the rules can change daily...depending on how they benefit.

2007 Football Action Shots Back Online!

For all the emails we've been getting...guess what - those action shots are BAAAAACK!

Okay...so here's what we have...in celebration of the Weigh-In Weekend, we are offering two things...

First - all action shots from 2007 are back online. This will be the absolute last time you'll see them, and they will go away appox midnight Sunday night. So, if you need reprints or didn't get to order...now's the time.

Second - while at weigh-in day, if you order you custom poster from the 07 season, we're taking $15 off. Now, obiviously this offer can't be combined with any others. So if you've ordered in the past, you don't get $15 and another $15...good try though! :). But, this is also the last time to order any posters from 2007!

Don't worry, for those of you that never see the blog (you know who you are)...then we will let you know by passing out cards that look like this!

Rain may be in the forecast...maybe it will stay away until about 6...what do you think? Don't forget to subsribe to get blog updates via email!!!

Getting Ready...

Tomorrow will mark the "one week to weigh-in" for this year's football season! We are so excited, and get prepared for what we hope turns out to be a great season. If you take a look at our calendar, we are crazy in the next couple of months. For anyone reading this, we'd like to say "THANK YOU!" We've always realized that without you, there is no Krystal Image Sports.

Ah, and wouldn't you know...when weigh in day comes around, we are going to again repost all the 2007 football shots for THAT WEEKEND ONLY! Don't forget to take a look at last season...and if you are new the football league, then welcome, and look at what is to come! Did I mention you'll be able to take $15 off any poster from 2007 at wiegh in? Get it then, because after that, 2007 is gone for good.

Then...just when you thought baseball season was over...Cleburne Jackets and Aledo Black are playing in the Mustang South Zone Tournament in Cleburne for a chance and the Mustang World Series...good luck to those teams, and we'll see part of those games tonight as well.

Bizarre Animal Washes Up on Beach (Photo)

Scientists are scratching their heads over this one. It's an animal found near the tip of Long Island this week. We THINK it's an animal anyway. Here's how one British website (http://www.asylum.co.uk/) described it: "We don't to panic anyone, but a minion of Satan just washed up on a beach in Montauk, New York. The beast looks a bit like a dog with the sharp beak of an eagle, or possibly a shell-less turtle with the dark eyes of a griffin. Either way, it's definitely a portent of the coming apocalypse."

No, not Get Smart...though some think I need to. Actually, being back at the house is quite a blessing...

Looks like my students and I literally shook the house in Anaheim. They just couldn't survive without us, and we left...once we took off....BOOM! Earthquake. Yes, I was in the air. That's a great thing since I'm sure there were a few delays and there was some runway damage here and there. Still got home in time for Marshall's soccer practice...lucky me.

Either way, it's good to be home. We are looking forward to some great announcements Friday! Stay tuned!

Greetings from Anaheim!

It won't be long...August first, we will officially be full time at our new studio! Krystal's been working really hard getting everything she needs in there. It isn't 100%, and probably won't be for a few months yet, but sometimes that is the way it works. Either way, come August 1, you should be able to find us there much more regularly...

With that, we like to welcome the following football associations to our growing family! Welcome Brock Football, who is offering their own association for the first time this year. They aren't messing around either - 1 Bantam, 2 Minor and 2 Major teams. AWESOME! Congrats to you and your initial success. THANK YOU for letting us be a part of your first year, and we hope to see you grow in the years to come.

We are about one month from knowing the fall football schedule...yes, the Cowboys are in California enjoying camp...and this time next week, youth football kicks off with their workouts...is the summer REALLY OVER???

For those of you wondering why I'm in Anaheim... I'm here for the IAAM Conference and Trade Show. (http://www.iaam.org/) It's part of my teaching responsibilities to get to mingle with a few facility GMs and operations directors, etc. I've got 6 students here with me who will hopefully either leave with internships, or better yet...JOBS.

Ah...and welcome to the new blog look for Krystal Image Sports. As you may know, there is a ton of stuff going on...some good, others exciting, and whatever it is, we've been very busy getting ready for the fall.

Not many times can someone bring me to the edge of my seat during an exhibition...but, this time...wow. Awesome. An amazining story, and one that makes me proud to be a Rangers fan. To Josh Hamilton: Thanks for taking baseball and owning it. It's yours for the time being...keep in mind, that time is short, so enjoy it.

A Day at Six Flags

Okay...first and foremost, before we begin...

IF I EVER SOUND LIKE A CAR SALESMAN ON HERE (not that there is anything wrong with car salesmen, but you know what I mean)...be sure you send me an email and say, "hey Chad, I need a Buick." It's one thing to let the world into our minds, and yes, it is a great marketing tool...but every post? I will not give you any more price quotes here!!!

But, on to today...long long long day at the walking beating that is Six Flags Over Texas... Yes, it is a great time. But really, I think there is a little too much of an attempt to be Disney. I was okay with the Looney Toons connection...and the Justice League superhero stuff...but then to have them in a parade??? I think there were six, maybe eight floats. The super heroes were stone faced...very beaten down. And how bad is it that the STAFF is waving at people in the parade? Bright green shirts, and actually, very friendly...not the case from the girl in the 19th century belle dress...had to have been hot.

So anyway...while waiting for Krystal and Marshall to come off a ride, Cadence had fun in a misting fan, and then we had some fun with Marshall's pocket camera. It's the first time I've used one in a while...they are fun cams...and they fit in my pocket...so all is good there.

Feel free to email me and tell me how cute Cadence is too. She looks nothing like me, and all like her mother...but overall you'd at least tell me I have good taste. HA! :-)

Okay, I'm not sure what we were thinking...but this Glen Rose tourney was alot more overwhelming on the back-end than we thought... Well, that, along with having to get a new storage drive and having software issues...this rest of the games will be up very soon...but we did get our sync problems solved. Please keep in mind that we don't throw everything in straight from the cards...and we took somewhere between 16-20GB per day...that's alot...

One thing I did forget though (and I'm going to brag just a little)...but Krystal IS AWESOME...some of the shots from her games are just pure genius. I have a few...but her's are OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER...just awesome...I'm very very lucky I think. Tremedous talent.

So...with that, be sure you send Krystal a text message wishing her a late happy birthday. She's 21 again today. Or something close to that. If you don't have her number, 682-551-7744... I'll play innocent, I swear!

On Friday, for those that happen to live in Cleburne, be sure you drive by and honk as we should have our new signage up our studio location...things will be so much easier at that point!

Did you know, half of Cleburne is out on a power failure? The other half should be sleeping! My parents called and they said it is getting hot over there...I think its cooled down enough to go outside...maybe we should have invited them over??? Wait...we did, but they didn't tell us there was no electricity until about 4 hours in...whatever...

Okay...so for Friday...here's the scoooooop.

We are looking for FIVE high school seniors to be to be Krystal Image Ambassadors. We are still working on the paperwork and requirements, etc. But, it will come with a free local session (via Krystal Image Studio) and discounts on their senior packages. We are looking for them to be our marketing team and our eyes and ears of style, fashion, and all about what's NOW! Sync Issues...

Just an FYI...we are having some sync issues to where all the images are uploading about one every three minutes. That isn't going to get the (literally) thousands of images up timely. We are currently working on the issue and hope to have it resolved very very very shortly. Thanks for the patience...looks like we are in for a long night!

Great Weekend in Glen Rose

Thanks to everyone with the Glen Rose Youth Baseball Association for having us this weekend. Everyone is always very friendly and the baseball was wonderful. There was ALOT of baseball as well. For those that are looking for those games, hang tight, as there are thousands of images that need to go through quality control, and may take a day or so. My eyes were a little swollen this morning...and I have a tomoto sunburn head...so when I can see and smile, we'll be good to go!

Water's On

Just for an update that will more than likley hit your email box soon...

Water's on, the DSL dry-line is at least operational (though we are still waiting for the router/modem) and we are halfway to our certificate of occupancy. We have clearance to have the power turned on. I guess we won't burn anything down soon. Still awaiting signage, but we were warned not to 'replace' the sign, only to reface it. Something about having to get brand new permits, engineers, etc. You would never think that there was so much just to GET IN!

So, with that, we'll be over in Glen Rose this weekend for their Early-Season tournament. Not sure what the schedule looks like just yet, but I bete we'll be there Friday night, all day Saturday and then a little Sunday afternoon. Woo-hoo! Action shots! THANK YOU!

Ah, and before I forget...just in case some of you don't know...I moonlight as the professor/chair of the Sports and Entertainment Management porgram at Northwood University (actually, that is my full time bit)...graduation was last Friday, and just to say, I couldn't be prouder of my 'kids'.

Joe is going into the sports agency business - heading to the University of Dallas' Sport Mangement MBA program, and working it with Entourage Sports Management. Tabitha has been a Dallas Stars promotions girl this season, and will spend the summer as Miss Arlington in the Miss Texas USA Pageant in Laredo. Justin has been busting his tail at the Dallas Cup, Trevor with the Fort Worth Cats promotions teams. Lauren with Universal Music Group. Tenetia has been all over the place, including Nokia Live. Several others have been working with minor league teams across the nation. It's hard to say I really had anything to do with it...I'm sure I didn't, but I hope I was at least able to point them in the right direction! They have bright futures and wish them the best of luck.

Though I look extremely goofy in a fat cardboard cap, it looks like more than ever that I just need to hit the gym!

And just when you thought it was safe to go outside...97 degrees...I hate the heat, but it makes the falls and springs more memorable!

For all those that helped us with our growing pains this year...THANK YOU! We know that without you, we couldn't do anything! But, just to review, the main problem has been finding a way to get everything to you. With so many teams, it has been tough. We've tried to get you at your games...easier said than done. We've tried to meet up, but try that with almost 200 teams. Can't happen - but everything is still in our living room!!! What is the solution?

DING DING DING! Got it! Over the summer, look for us at a new location...yes, not the back of the bedroom/living room/dining room/entry way/garage where we have been, but in the heart of the city. Yes, you've read right...Krystal Image Studio is coming in the next few weeks. Most of the i's are crossed and the t's are dotted...well...whatever.

Either way, we'll be making an official announcement soon (unless Krystal beats me to it on her blog (www.krystalimage.com)! But I bet you'll get an email.

Either way, we are extremely proud and extremely grateful to everyone that has been so nice in the comments we've had (good and bad)...

Just an FYI...for those loyal readers to this blog...(if there really are any)...we've been in the mist of photo shoots on a daily basis, and to be honest with you, just haven't had any time to post. That's going to continue for the next week or two until we get everyone shot, processed and returned.

Okay, is it odd that it snows on March 3rd?

Agh...just an fyi - in case you've read krystal's blog (http://www.krystalimage.com/), she's been SICK! Blah! seems like when we get sick, we get it bad. Some of you may remember that I got sick at the start of football season that took a week to get over...never a good thing. So, that means that I got to do things like cook...okay, I mean pick up food or order pizza.

Either way - I've also been in the middle of redesigning our sports management curriculum at Northwood. That isn't a fun chore, especially with curriculum reviews, etc. So if I've been a little slow on a few things, it isn't because I haven't tried. So if there has been a delay, keep on me...we'll get you!

Also, thanks to everyone that has sent me wishes about my dad...he's doing better and has readjusted his diet. Mom loves counting mg of sodium with everything!!!

Good news though...Krystal is at a workshop tonight for her seniors/kids stuff...and looks like baseball season starts for us on Friday. Always exciting. AND...Marshall is playing basketball now, which runs right into soccer, which co-exists with baseball...should be a fun spring.

We are looking forward to working with Godley, Rio Vista, and Glen Rose baseball associations this spring. We sincerely appreciate the support! It won't be long before we start contacting for football for NEXT season already! WoW!

Wait...almost forgot...thanks to parents of the Glen Rose varsity men's and women's teams for having Krystal out Friday night. She had a great time, and forgot all the passion that comes with high school hoops. (I think she misses her glory days there...and YES, she was AWESOME in the day...)

Isn't it a terrible day taht when BOTH teams you are rooting to go to the Super Bowl are done? Maybe because for TWO weeks in a row, the Patriots won...(I can't bring myself to ever even want them to be successful). Last week the Cowboys lose...so naturally (I think) we go for the Pack...but NO! The NY STINKING GIANTS????? Did they really WIN any games? I think they merely survived two weeks in a row.

It's 9:13 and a lot has happened already. Well, let me start from the beginning. I entered a contest to win a new web site from Bludomian.com. Blu is great and this is who we went through for the sports website. I want to launch my KI Expressions site January 1st, but I need a new website for that. So before I buy one I figured I would enter this contest first. They announced the winner at midnight last night (or 1am our time), but because old age is setting in, I of course fell asleep.

This morning I WAS sleeping in, but my lovely Husband (you know how he is) came in and scared the sh*! out of me this morning jumping up and down, screaming that I won! It took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about. So much for sleeping in, but a great way to wake up - minus being scared half to death. I had won the contest for a new website. So, if everything goes to plan, I will be launching KI Expressions on January 1st. Stay Tuned! This is better than the Leg Lamp from "The Christmas Story" we got last year.

Just when we think football season is done...BOOM! Welcome to the Cheburne v Red Oak Holiday Classic. We had a great opportunity to see some hard hitting football from the Cleburne All-Stars (keep in mind, that two of the three teams were undefeated in Majors regular season) and some INSANE cats from Red Oak...I'm not real sure what is in the water there...but WOW.

Thanks for the weather, too. We went the ENTIRE season with no rain and cold...then BAM...

The major game went into double OT and determined by about a half yard on the two-point conversion. When you get a chance, those are going to be some great images to see (will be up sometime Monday).

Also, congrats to our dual winners of the photos of the year. TONS of votes came across, and we thought it was only fair to make sure the top two vote getters received their blanket. Congrats on a great season and we surely hope you enjoy it.

A few things to take care of as we wrap up the Brazos Valley season...

First - It is time to vote for the photo of the week blankets! On the blog, the photos of the week for the first few weeks are up. In interest of fairness, I'm not going to post any more. Those 5 or 6 we have up...ding ding ding. Just email to contest@krystalimagesports.com the week of the photo plus "blanket". (Week 1 Blanket) etc. Good luck to all those! Contest ends Sunday at Midnight...

Second - It is poster time...if you need help deciding on images, pick out your favorite 10 or so, and we'll do the rest. We don't mind at all. Order forms can be found under the "posters" link of the main page. Deadline is Sunday at midnight for holiday insurance. After that, everything may be subject to a $25 rush charge.

Third - If you are looking at one of those great blankets (54x70 woven blankets)...this FRIDAY SATURDAY and SUNDAY we are having a "post-Thanksgiving" sale. Everyone else is, right? So, $30 off a blanket (that makes them $120 each) and if you get two blankets of the same image, then you can get them for $200 (and maybe keep one for yourself).

Just an FYI...for those of you looking for the 9am Joshua v Joshua game from Saturday...it was victim to some horrible corruptness. So, for it's corruption, it was sentenced to the death penalty (because we ARE in Texas). Therefore, I'm sorry to say that the game is a loss. We really aren't sure what happened...but for the first time ever, we are going to blame it on a MAC! (Shhh...don't tell anyone else in the 'creative business' a Mac went and fried a CF Card. First, they won't believe you, then if they do they will blame it on the operator.) So blame it on Jeremy and his Mac that just couldn't take it anymore.

Krystal is headed to a photography workshop over the next few days to fine tune her senior and kid and family talents. She's going to be learning from the greatness of Brianna Graham (http://www.briannagraham.com/) SO...for those of you looking for family photos for the holidays...ACT NOW! It is really almost too late! But, she's really good and really enjoys it. It's very one on one and for those that have met her...well, you don't have to deal with me as much! I just smile and say 'it's all you, babe'! (Just in case you didn't know...yes, we are married, so I AM semi-allowed!)

Either way, the rest of the games are up to me, and it is also finals week at Northwood! (Have to love the old quarter system)...so as I am grading finals and building posters...be a LITTLE patient with me. I'm off for two weeks starting Wednesday to get completely caught up! THANK YOU!

And...I also just noticed it is almost 1am...I'm out! Sleep tight and if you have bed bugs, call the exterminator and head to the couch with a pillow and one of our blankets! LOL!

I never realized how tired I was until today...but who could blame me, right? What a weekend!

After 5 football games miced in with 3 more soccer (two from afar!) who wouldn't be tired? We'd like to send out a few shoutouts for jobs well done...

First - Shoutouts to the Super Bowl participants:
Bantam - Aledo 1 and Burleson 2.
Minor - Midlothian 3 and Burleson 2
Major - Aledo 1 and Midlothian 4

It looks like overall, it turned into a three TOWN race, as there are two representatives in the finals from Aledo, Burleson and Midlothian...CONGRATS to those towns and their teams, players and coaches.

Next...I need to give a shoutout to the little Cleburne Pumas, the 9U soccer team taht ALMOST made finals. They came back from being down 3-2 at the half to score a game tying goal with less than two minutes left to end things in a 3-3 draw. It was an exciting game that ended in controversy...always. No shootouts in 'mini-game' matches, and the Pumas didn't make the finals due to the 4th tiebreaker. Bad way to end the year, but we are very proud of a team that came together out of nowhere.

The football games will be up in the next day or so. We had a power outage today for some reason and threw the wheels off everything. Missed most of the first half of the Cowboys game because of it...I think it was a bird or something that committed electrical suicide...not sure. It scared the dogs to death though.

And LAST thing...for those ordering posters, THANK YOU! For those that haven't gotten your order in yet, do so FAST! They are starting to mount up, and the quicker you get them in, the more sleep I will get later!!! Thanks a ton for a great football season! We appreciate it!

Only 4 days...

yep - just 4 short days until we know who the Brazos Valley Football Super Bowl Contestants will be. We ARE TRYING to stay nuetral, so if you hear from us, and we wish you luck...we are telling the other team that too! LOL!

We are in the process of getting everything caught up...I'm only a Monster and a MilkShake away...so we are sorry that there haven't been all the photos of the week and updates as much as we'd like.

But...with that, the games go on. In case you were wondering, we'll be able to make it to two locations Saturday. I really wish we could hit all four...just not quite to that point yet.

For me and Krystal, we are staying home in Cleburne. Marshall has a soccer tourney about 200 yards from the football field and so if you see us running back and forth...well...we haven't gotten to see many of his games this year. If you aren't busy go by and root him on too! ;)

The Final Four...

What a great set of playoff games on Saturday. You'd think that after 70+ games, we would have seen an overtime...but it took this week to see it when the Weaherford Minor teams battled it out - and then being decided by less than a yard on a 2 point conversion! Congrats to the final four teams in Bantam (Aledo 1, Kennedale, Weatherford 3 and Burleson 2)...Minor (Weatherford 2, Burleson 2, Aledo 4 and Midlothian 3) ...Major (Aledo 1, Aledo 5, Midlothian 4 and Burleson 4). We've got some of the games to get you there coming soon.

Hopefully, we'll see many of you in your quest for the Super Bowl this week. I'll let you know later today where we're headed.

Oh, and happy belated Halloween! Here are some shots of Marshall and Cadence from Halloween night...and a shot of a great save Marshall had during his soccer game Thursday! We were actually able to see a game and he recorded his 4th shutout of the season.

In looking at a tiring and draining football season, we looked back and wondered what makes it great.

Yesterday.

Yesterday is what makes it great. We have such a great time talking to all of you. Thanks to the unnamed Bantam coach who experimented with the Spread Offense for his consolidation game - let the kids go for it...you never know what they are capable of until they try it...

And - Thanks to the unnamed kid who Krystal had this conversation with coming out of a timeout:

Kid: Hey! Photo Lady...You getting some good shots of me?
Krystal: Yeah, probably so...I'm working on it.
Kid: Good. Get plenty. Because this is the best thing you'll shoot all day.

Krystal rolled her eyes and laughed...

Playoff Time!

Another football regular season is behind us - bring on the playoffs! To all those that we saw this season, you guys were great! Thank you to the towns of Weatherford, Aledo, Cleburne, Alvarado, Rio Vista, Burleson and Granbury for letting us come and invade your space to set our our tent/table. Without you guys, it would be hard to do any of this. Another thanks to Jim at BVFL for posting pics on the town's webpages. Remember the whole point to that is to make that webpage more fun for everyone to look at. We just want to make sure we do our part.

WHHHHOOOAAA...let's tap the brakes here real fast! We still have one more week to play! Some of you another four!!! It's playoff time, isn't it?!?

Yes, it is...and this weekend is a whacky one for us! Jenna is out again on a previous schedule, and I have to be in Cedar Hill for a preview day by 5ish. So, that means we have to stay close to the house, and we can only go one place - and Krystal has to finish up the day. You got it...we're headed across town and staying in Cleburne. So, this week we'll see:

Is it really already the wee hours of Friday? Wow...

There have been some obvious delays in getting games up. Sorry about that. But, all games are up now, so were are good to go! If you are wondering what is going on this week...well, after your games you guys need to travel up to Cedar Hill and visit my students. They are putting on a great Haunted House and it is completely student run. If you need the address: 1114 West FM 1382, Cedar Hill, 75104.

Now for those that are going up...just jump on 67 and go north to FM 1382 and hook a left. For those that are scooting over on I20, just exit FM 1382 and take a right...the campus is just past the state park...it's the BEST $5 you'll ever spend!

Wait - one last thing...Jenna had previous bookings down in Houston this week. She's been great and we'll miss her Saturday. With that, Krystal is still in full stride heading for the friendly confines of Alvarado. We'll see:

Did you know the Pats v Cowboys game on Sunday isn't the only big matchup this weekend??? Yeah, look for the Brazos Valley Football game of the week to be the UNDEFEATED major teams of CLEBURNE 2 v WEATHERFORD 2 to be one massive matchup. We've seen both of these teams a few times this year, and wow...what a game it will be. If your games let you, head to Cleburne for a 9:30am start...(hint, they should move it to 7:30 for tv purposes! LOL!) But, if you can't make it...we've got Jenna there to document the whole thing! Whoo wooo.

Okay, now that MOST of the photos from this weekend's games are up...the rest...look for later tonight. I know that it hasn't been as fast as we have hoped, or have done in the past. But we're getting there.

Plus, yesterday was my mom's brithday (Chad's mom..happy birthday again!) We enjoyed a nice dinner as they broke some news that they are going to be moving. Yeah, moving out of a house that i was in since the third grade...but they kicked me out of when I went to college. Is it fair that i slept on an air mattress between my freshman and sophomore year? Hmmmm...good lesson....once you leave...you've left. (Remember that kids!!! LOL!)

Just an FYI to where your games are...

We are having technology software pains because we had two photographers at the same games this weekend. Trying to work out a few kinks and we THINK they are solved. So, though we expected them to all be up tonight, we were delayed...AGAIN. Thanks for being patient. You guys are wonderful! All galeries should be up sometime Tuesday evening.

Meet Jenna and Jeremy

Ah - the growing pains. Hopefully, some of those are going to be solved. Meet Jenna and Jeremy, our new crew that made their debut with on Saturday in Weatherford. Jenna is an Entreprenuership major at Northwood University in Cedar Hill, and Jeremy is an Entertainment Sport and Promotion Management major at Northwood. What makes them great? Everything.

Jenna - a native of the Houston area, has been doing a wide variety of photography for the last few years. Her work caught Krystal's eye, and we caught her as soon as we could. Look for some of her work with family and kids at http://www.jennachristine.com/.

Jeremy - also a native of that Houston area, is one that I've worked with for the last few years as he's been in my classes at Northwood. He's got a ton of promise and I look forward to working with him more.
